Who is Andrealphus?
The "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum" is a grimoire that lists demons and their attributes, and is associated with the tradition of demonology in medieval and Renaissance Europe. The book, which was compiled in the 16th century, is also known as the "False Monarchy of Demons."
In the "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum," Andrealphus is described as a powerful marquis of Hell who rules over thirty legions of demons. He is depicted as a man with the wings of a griffin and the legs of a stork, and is said to have the power to transform into a variety of different animals.
The grimoire states that Andrealphus can teach the arts of geometry and astronomy, and can also help his summoners to enjoy sexual pleasures. He is said to be able to help people obtain their desires, but with the stipulation that they must offer him a sacrifice in return.
Andrealphus is associated with the sin of lust, and is said to have the power to awaken and amplify the desires of those who come into contact with him. In some depictions, he is able to physically shape-shift into forms that are especially alluring to his chosen victims.
Despite his seductive nature, Andrealphus is also a dangerous and unpredictable figure. Those who make deals with him often find themselves trapped in agreements that are far from what they bargained for, and can quickly become the playthings of the demon lord.
Andrealphus also appears in the Lesser Key of Solomon as published by Alesiter Crowley. His entry states:
The Sixty-fifth Spirit is Andrealphus. He is a Mighty Marquis, appearing at first in the form of a Peacock, with great Noises. But after a time he putteth on Human shape. He can teach Geometry perfectly. He maketh Men very subtle therein; and in all Things pertaining unto Mensuration or Astronomy. He can transform a Man into the Likeness of a Bird. He governeth 30 Legions of Infernal Spirits, and his Seal is this, etc.
